How many new employees are hired by banks?

As per RBI data, for the year FY19, there was a net addition of about 87000 bank officers (54k in private sector banks & 15k in small finance banks). In the non-officers category, there was a net reduction. Since the net increase of 87k is post-accounting for people moving into other careers and those retiring, the gross numbers may be between 1 to 1.5 lacs. From the data, it is clear that there are a plethora of opportunities in banking if you have the right skills.
