Sales or business-oriented career is a much, much better option within banking or BFSI sector in general, be it in terms of job opportunities, faster career growth or better salaries/ income.
People who think otherwise are generally those who are new to the job or with less than 5 years of work experience in this industry. They have slightly limited understanding of the benefits, and have limited skills in delivering on the sales or business objectives.
Sales roles require better skills and those who wish to take advantage of the opportunities must invest in upskilling. The returns in sales roles are definitely far better than the costs.
