Teller’s daily roles and responsibilities include:
- Handling cash deposits and withdrawals.
- Issuing demand drafts and pay orders.
- Making NEFT/ RTGS and other online payments.
- Handling foreign exchange requirements of customers, including outward remittances.
- Verifying customer identity and ensuring KYC compliance.
- Assisting with cheque deposits and clearing.
- Providing information about account balances and transactions.
- Reporting suspicious transactions to prevent fraud.
- Cross-selling basic banking products like savings accounts or fixed deposits and others.
